This Is Your Match If…
- You want the do-everything SUV — and the newest version of it.
- Hybrid MPG as the standard, not an upgrade.
- The Plug-in intrigues you: electric commuting, hybrid road trips.
- AWD confidence for Utah, in a size that fits real garages.
My Take, Straight Up
The RAV4 didn't become the best-selling SUV in America by accident — it's the right size, the right price, the right everything for an enormous number of lives. And the all-new generation makes the biggest change in its history: every single one is electrified. Hybrid or Plug-in Hybrid. That's the whole menu, and it's a great menu.
Early demand on a redesign like this is intense, so here's my real value: I'll tell you what's actually arriving, when, and in what trims — no waitlist mythology. If the previous-generation math works better for you, I'll say that too.
Quick Facts
Real Questions, Real Answers
Is there a gas-only 2026 RAV4?
No — the new generation is hybrid and plug-in hybrid only. In practice that means better MPG and smoother driving for everyone, with no efficiency 'upgrade' to pay for.
Hybrid or Plug-in Hybrid?
If you can charge at home and most days are under 40-ish miles, the Plug-in can make gas stations a rare event. No home charging? The standard hybrid is simpler and still excellent.
How do I get one early?
